Maria Eggeling is a Swedish pianist, guitarist, songwriter and singer inspired by various musical genres – among them jazz, folk, country and traditional. Maria’s music is shifting and rhythmic with a distinct Nordic sound. Her latest album “Bikini”, recorded in Eversound studios in Skåne, was produced and released in 2012. All music and lyrics on “Bikini” are written by Maria, except for two tracks (“Marsmelodi” and “Hush”), where she composed music to poems by Tage Danielsson and Anabel Portillo. Currently Maria is in the process of creating her next album. Bikini was released on Spotify in September 2014 as is now to be found on several digital platforms. The digital album has 9 tracks and the CD has 10.
Maria enjoys playing her music in varying ensembles, giving her the opportunity to experiment with the arrangements. At the moment she performs solo or with three different groups: Eggeling Band, Eggeling trio and Eggeling & Falk. These are all different constellations of the jazz and rock musicians Christine Falk (saxophones), John Bernéli (guitar, mandolin & dobro), Anders Djurfeldt (double bass) and Petter Bengtsson (drums), all based in the Malmö and Copenhagen region.
